Important Message from the SC Department of Employment & Workforce (SCDEW)

"If you are receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and you received a documentation request and have NOT provided the documentation, time is running out. The deadline to provide documents is May 5!

If your documents are not received, DEW is required by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to stop your Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits AND charge you with an overpayment for you to pay back all benefits you have received in 2021. This is a federal requirement outlined in the most recent legislation.

Uploading your document is the fastest way to make sure our agency receives it! However, if you have already submitted the requested PUA documentation by mail or online, and your MyBenefits portal confirms this, you do not need to re-submit it.

For more information on this federal requirement, please go to Pandemic Unemployment Document Requirements

Documentation Request flyer, all information as listed below.
