SC Stay Plus will provide $272 Million in Rental Assistance
SC Housing will launch in early May a $272 million program to assist South Carolina residents in need of rental and utility assistance whose finances have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those who qualify for SC Stay Plus may receive up to 12 months of assistance for late rent payments and late utility payments dating back to March 13, 2020.
Additional details on the program launch date and requirements will be provided soon by SC Housing. Please check SC Housing's website at https://schousing.com/Home/SC-Stay-Plus for new information in the near future. On that same webpage, you may also add your email address to a website form to receive notification as soon as additional information is available.
S.C. residents in 39 counties are eligible to participate in the program. The following seven counties were directly funded by the U.S. Treasury Department and will provide their own rental assistance programs: Anderson, Berkeley, Charleston, Greenville, Horry, Richland and Spartanburg. If you live or own property in one of these seven counties, please check which programs are available in your area on SC Housing's Resources for Renters page.
Note *Columbia Housing will periodically share information on resources available to the community by its partners.
